Fiat will show off a concept car at the Paris International Motor Show that's the equivalent of an automotive trifecta, storing and using three different fuel types.

Multipla Multi-Eco The Multipla Multi-Eco can use gasoline, methane or the E85 mixture of gas and bioethanol. Bioethanol can be derived from a biomass fermentation process using agricultural products rich in sugars such as cereals, sugar crops, corn and vines, Fiat said.

It's just a concept for now, and Fiat doesn't sell cars in the United States, but with gas prices continuing to ding motorists' pocket books, they may be real demand for cars like these.

Blog community response:

"We're still waiting for our flying DeLorean that runs on either plutonium or garbage, with a flux capacitor pumping out 1.21 gigawatts."

"Dual-powered cars aren't quite as unique as they used to be, but a vehicle that's able to run on three different power sources should be enough to perk up anyone's energy-saving, cost-cutting ears, even if just a little bit."

"But is this going to end up like the Gillette/Schick competition? Introducing the 8-powered car: gas, hydrogen, ethanol, wind, nuclear, hydropower, coal, and pedalling!"
