FAXstf Pro 5.0.2 "updates" your serial number; FAXstf and AppleScript glitch

CNET staff
FAXstf Pro 5.0.2 "updates" your serial number Peter Cohen called STF for some help. They asked for the serial number of his FAXstf Pro software, recently updated to 5.0.2. He checked the software's About screen and found that the serial number was listed as AB123123. STF told him that this was not a valid number. When he checked further, he discovered that the software's original serial number was indeed different. So where did this "new" serial number come from? Peter writes: "The STF tech, who had also upgraded his software to 5.0.2, checked his serial number and guess what? AB123123. It appears that the updater is 'updating' serial numbers as well. STF is looking into it. So, be sure to write down your original serial number before upgrading."

FAXstf and AppleScript glitch FAXstf Pro no longer handles AppleScript properly - at least using the AutoPrint script. The AppleScript Handler never launches, so AutoPrint will not work, forcing manual printing of any faxes received This was confirmed by STF Tech Support. (Thanks, Jim Hoover.)
