FAXstf 5.0.5: iBook startup problem; more general printing problem?

We have no confirmation of this from others, but Martin Strathemann found that his iBook blinking question mark startup problems (see previous report) were linked to a corrupted System file. He determined that the cause of the corruption was the FAXstf 5.0.5 software. He also noted that with the FAXstf software installed, the default printer selection was not retained and he would keep getting messages that said "No Printer is available, please select in the Chooser." J. Picard had recently sent us a similar report involving FAXstf and PowerPrint 5 when running OS 9's Multiple Users: "With FAXstf 5.05 installed, PowerPrint doesn't function. You get the classic 'application cannot print. Please select your printer in the Chooser' error message. PowerPrint ran fine using FAXstf 5.0." [The MacFixIt Troubleshooting Mac OS 9 report details other PowerPrint issues.]
