Eudora: Problems with filters on Intel-based Macs

CNET staff

MacFixIt reader Steve Elman reports issues with Eudora filters on Intel-based Macs for which we are seeking corroboration.

Steve writes:

"A client of mine is having an issue with Eudora filters on an Intel-based Mac, no problems on PowerPC-based systems. The Eudora user folder (located in ~/Documents) was migrated to an Intel-based Mac from a PowerPC Mac, then Eudora 6.2.3 (Version available as of install date) was installed.

"Eudora functions properly. After about a couple of months the filters set up on the PPC and now transferred to the Intel-based started to act erratically and not working properly (on the Intel-based Mac), erroneously allowing all mail to come into the in box.

"I advised client by phone to check the filters and see if they were set correctly and they were so I advised her to delete them and recreate them. Trying to recreate any filter to an existing mailbox is futile as the mailboxes are grayed out. So I had her bring it to me. I installed 6.2.4 and that did not help and I confirmed that they are in fact grayed out and not accessible."

If you are experiencing this or any other issues with Eudora 6.2.x on an Intel-based Mac, please let us know.
