Eudora 4.3.1 and Proxy Authentication

CNET staff
Dave Heap had problems using Eudora 4.3.1 in Sponsored Mode when behind a firewall which requires Proxy Authentication. Jerry Smith described a similar problem with the paid version of Eudora, involving an inability to get the server to authenticate his password (the problem did not occur in the previous version of Eudora). QUALCOMM replied that these situation can likely be resolved by "configuring Mac Eudora for users whose ISP requires use of a web (HTTP) proxy." For example, if you have already configured your web proxy in the Internet control panel, you can enable "Read from Internet Config" in the "Miscellaneous" settings panel. If you don't want Eudora to get settings from the Internet control panel, you can configure Eudora directly using the "HTTP Proxy" settings panel.
