Eudora 4.0.1 email attachment bug; fixed in 4.1 (and 4.0.2?)

Bruce Linde found that Eudora 4.01 "corrupts the catalog of any drive/partition receiving attachments." A diagnostic symptom is that Disk First Aid reports ''missing file threads." The bug is acknowledged by Eudora in the Read Me files for Eudora 4.1, now in beta. It notes that DFA can only fix the problem if the drive in question is not the boot drive. This problem is fixed in Eudora 4.1 and perhaps also in the just released Eudora 4.0.2 update (its Read Me file lists a host of bug fixes).
