Ethernet Update 1.0 is out; designed to fix dropped connection problems

CNET staff
Apple has just released Ethernet Update 1.0. (Thanks, Daniel Mangosing.) The update "improves the reliability of Ethernet in certain rare network configurations. These configurations are typically 10Mbit networks...It is not necessary to install this update unless you are experiencing reliability issues with your Ethernet networking configuration." This update replaces the Mac OS ROM file with a new version, 3.8. It requites Mac OS 9.0.4. Note: This is the fix apparently intended to solve the Ethernet-related problems previously described here on MacFixIt.
