Ethernet problems: Multiple ethernet adaptor ((null)) entries, cannot connect
Multiple bogus Ethernet ports are spawned, creating connection difficulties.
We are beginning to track an issue where multiple ethernet adaptor ((null)) entries inexplicably begin appearing as network port configurations in the Network pane of System Preferences. This would be a relatively innocuous bug were it not for the fact that some users are finding that they need to regularly switch the network port configuration back to their actual active Ethernet port (from the bogus, newly created port) before Internet connectivity is achieved.
In some cases, the issue can be temporarily resolved by deleting the following two files:- NetworkInterfaces.plist
- Preferences.plist
from /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration.
If you are experiencing a similar issue, please let us know.
