EpsonShare author posts tutorial for "fixing" problems with Epson Updater

For those that are still having problems with Epson Stylus Driver Updater v1.0ES, Gérard Ceccaldi, author of EpsonShare (a utility to share Epson printers), writes
"Several users of my software report having some problems with the new Epson Stylus Driver Updater v1.0ES.

As usual, the Epson installer sometimes fails to replace its old files. In particular, the Epson Preferences may be out-of-date or some old and new files, drivers or libraries mixed. To fix all of this, a clean installation is needed but an uninstallation from the Epson installer doesn't work.

I have posted a step-by-step tutorial to make a really clean installation. It's at the bottom of this web page. Originally these instructions are intended for EpsonShare users, but any Epson inkjet user can take advantage of the advice."

Dion Cautrell adds: "Another reason for some users' trouble with this Updater may its re-installation of Epson's USB print drivers (Classes A through C). As was noted months ago (the TIL article cited here as been deleted), these drivers are incompatible with Apple's and should be deleted in preference to those which come with 8.x/9.0."
