Epson 800 and Nisus Writer: a follow-up Last time, we mentioned a problem with Epson 800 software and Nisus Writer and offered a couple of potential work-arounds. Tom Ritch provides some additional information on this issue: "I have found that the Epson software can be in its normal place in the System Folders without causing problems, if it is not used. The bug appears when the Epson driver is selected in the Chooser. Unfortunately, once created, the problem does not go away easily when a different printer is chosen. It is necessary to select another printer driver (I use the ImageWriter driver), then rebuild the desktop. After the rebuild everything is fine until the next time the Epson driver is chosen."

Epson 3000 and Stylus Rip problem (and solution) Dru Richman (of the Mac Help Desk) found that the Stylus RIP 3.20 software that shipped with the Epson Stylus 3000 does not work on a Power Mac connected to an Ethernet network. "It freezes when a job is sent to the printer." The solution is to get Stylus RIP 3.21. However, according to Dru, this version is not yet on Epson's web site. He got Epson to snail mail him a copy. For those who need it, he plans to post it to his web site by next week.
