EndNote and Word 2001: two issues

CNET staff
Douglas Clements reports two issues with EndNote (bibliographic database software) and Microsoft Word 2001:

"The first is that EndNote 5 installs successfully, but does not communicate with Word. A 'fix' is to delete Word's Registration Database, PPC Registration Database, and Embedding Preferences files from the System Folder's preferences folder. After Word rebuilds these files, communication is at least possible.

Second is a problem ResearchSoft says they are 'aware of' but no apparent fix is available: EndNote 5's new add-ins (those with "CWYW" in the title) block Word's Customize command; you lose the ability to enter Command keys into the Customize dialog box."
