End Times as fun times: The best apocalypse gear around

An upgraded bladder and a car that runs on water are just a few of the sweet pieces of tech to add to your apocalypse checklist.

NASA might not agree, but plenty of folks seems to think the apocalypse is imminent. Whether it happens this Friday or decades from now, it's never too early to start preparing.

With that in mind, I scoured the CNET archives and watched hours of "The Walking Dead," "Falling Skies," "Revolution," "Wolf's Rain," "Red Dwarf," and dozens of other series to come up with this gallery of essential pieces of gear to start investing in now, while you still can.

Whether it's an evacuation lemon or some injectable expanding foam to treat your internal injuries while fleeing the alien invaders, every item in this list is a potential life (and possibly society) saver.

Did we miss any cool post-annihilation gear? More importantly, has anyone devised a way to play Jenga with the mountain of useless smartphones and tablets that will no doubt litter our new landscape of desolation? Please let us know in the comments. And if you could do it by Friday, that would be great.
