With EA Sports' NHL 10 being voted best overall sports game of last year, it's a bit shocking that the company has never released a hockey title for the Nintendo Wii. Though 2K Sports has found success with a modified version of NHL 2K on the platform, EA has yet to step foot on the ice until now.

Judging from the lone pond hockey screenshot, we're assuming this will be a departure from the more conventional NHL 10 hockey simulator, with a bigger concentration on letting anyone pick up and play the game.
