Droid X Froyo update expected by September

Motorola representative indicates that Verizon's latest handset is expected to see Android 2.2 next month.

Droid X CNET

Verizon's Droid X launched just last month, but its promised 2.2 "Froyo" update could still come by the end of the summer. Though originally expected by late this month , it now appears that Froyo's arrival will lapse into early September.

The latest clue came Thursday on a Motorola support forum. On a thread exploring the Exchange 2003 e-mail notification issue that's affecting Droid X, a Motorola representative acknowledged the issue and promised that a fix would be part of the 2.2 update "scheduled for deployment by early September." Let's hope that Motorola delivers on its promise and isn't forced to announce any delays .
