Droid 2 could be first phone to launch with Froyo
The unannounced Motorola handset for Verizon Wireless has been spotted running Froyo. If true, it would be the first phone to launch with Android 2.2.
The team over at Droid Life got their hands on a photo of what appears to be a pre-release version of the Droid 2 running Android 2.2 (Froyo). If the the device with Froyo, it would be the first Android handset to launch with the latest version of the platform.
The Droid 2 has seen its fair share of leaks lately, most recently in Verizon's summer. Though neither Motorola nor the carrier have announced the phone, pretty much everything you need to know has found its way online.
Look for it to have a 1GHz processor, an 8GB memory card, and a 5-megapixel camera. As for pricing, my gut tells me this will have the popular $200 tag. Hopefully, Verizon and Motorola are working hard to make sure they'll be able tocreated by their ad campaign.
After expecting to have plenty of handsets on hand for launch, the brand newis already on backorder. Likewise, the has been plagued with shortages since its May debut.
