Drive 10: Details on the Volume Content bug fixed in 1.0.5

When Micromat released Drive 10 1.0.5, they stated that it "fixes a problem with Volume Content Size in Rebuild/Repair Volume."

Verlin Brown provides more details as to what this means exactly. He writes: "Drive 10, 1.0.4 failed on my new iMac Flat Panel during Volume check. When I tried to repair it, the rebuilt said the Volume Content was zero. I canceled the repair. Disk First Aid and TechTool Pro 3.06 found no problem."

He contacted Micromat Tech Support and they replied:

"Definitely do not make the repair with .0 bytes for volume content. This is the reason for the Technical Comparison - to allow you to opt out of the repair if it will obviously not be correct.

Drive 10 v. 1.0.4 will get this result in certain cases due to a very fragmented Catalog File. In that case it is not actually a problem, but an incorrect diagnosis by Drive 10. A number of the newer Macs shipped from the factory in this condition. We just released the update to v. 1.0.5 which will work correctly in this situation. We suggest that you get the update. If version 1.0.5, Apple's Drive Utility, or other utilities don't report a problem, then the drive should be fine.

Note that the FAQ page on our website has instructions for making an updated Drive 10 CD."

Verlin confirms that updating to v. 1.0.5 solved the problem.
