Display Services Startup Item: Another solution to the Brightness keys glitch

CNET staff
Regarding our previous tip of launching DisplayServices to solve a Brightness keys glitch on PowerBooks:

Display Services Startup Item is a small utility that will launch the faceless DisplayServices application. [The application "listens for and responds to the Brightness keys."] You place the utility in the Library/Startup Items folder and it runs at startup. We had previously described a solution that involved adding the DisplayServices application to Login's "Login Items" list. Some people (especially with FireWire PowerBooks) reported problems with this method. Perhaps using this utility will work better. In any case, we also received several emails from FireWire PowerBook users that had success even with the Login Items method; so not everyone will see a problem here. (Thanks, Colin Smith.)
