DiskWarrior and memory requirements

CNET staff
Although Disk Warrior's Get Info window shows that it only uses 850K of memory, it will likely require more than that when it is actually rebuilding a directory. As noted in the manual: "Depending on the number of files on the disk to be rebuilt, DiskWarrior may require a large amount of memory to rebuild the disk."

You do not need to increase DiskWarrior's memory allocation to handle this. DiskWarrior does it dynamically on its own. Keeping unneeded applications closed will help make sure enough RAM is available.

If you don't have enough physical RAM for DiskWarrior to work, you could use RAM Doubler to increase your RAM. However, Alsoft does not recommend this combination. In any case, this memory problem will likely only be critical with Macs that have minimal RAM combined with large hard drives. (Thanks, Tony Wight.)
