Dishwasher thinks inside the box
The Fagor Dishwasher Storage Cooking Design Center lifts the dishwasher off the ground, integrating it directly into a storage tower. Room is also provided for everything from flatware to cookware.
Big-box kitchen appliances don't tend to push the boundaries too often; at least when it comes to how they integrate into the surroundings. Sure, a particular model may stand out from the pack with innovative features, but at the end of the day, refrigerators, dishwashers, and ranges tend to play it safe. Often this is due to necessity: it is not much of a stretch to say that cabinetry is often built around these appliances. There are times though--at least in the case of the dishwasher--one could look to install somewhere besides under the countertop.
The Fagor Dishwasher Storage Cooking Design Center offers a new way to look at dishwasher placement in the kitchen. The multilevel tower combines storage with a specially designed dishwasher. In addition to the dishwasher cutout, modules are provided to store flatware, dishware, and even larger cookware in the bottom compartment.
The dishwasher itself is a stainless steel model (LFA-65 IT X) offering six washing cycles. Convenient features like a programmable time delay and a height-adjustable top rack ensure that just because of a novel installation, the dishwasher doesn't have to skimp on usability. The insulated tub (constructed with no seams) means that in addition to looking good, the dishwasher sounds good, too, with ultra silent operation. The storage tower provides a new way of looking at the kitchen, leaving the only question remaining what to do with the hole under the counter where the old dishwasher used to be.
