My husband and I entertain weekly dinner guests. We and our friends enjoy friendly Iron Chef-style competitions, with dishes like avocado eggrolls and sushi salad frequently found gracing the tables. When closed, the desk is a slender dining table that seats 8 to 10. But open the table lengthwise--manually or via an electrical motor--to reveal a center panel that can house stainless steel panels, cutlery trays, or a chopping board, all of which can be arranged in a variety of ways. Stainless steel trolleys roll into place at the ends of the table and provide hot or cold storage for chafing dishes or chilled champagne. You can even use the trolleys to integrate a teppanyaki grill for true tableside service.
The trolleys are beautiful pieces on their own, whether you slide them into position at the table or use them as accent pieces elsewhere in the dining area. And they offer an additional shelf at the bottom of the unit to simplify serving and clearing.
