Dialing for Dell dollars
Michael Dell's investment fund is spreading the love.
The billionaire's MSD Capital, which makes investments in public and private companies and real estate and hedge funds, recently invested in SkyBridge Capital, according to a report in the New York Post.
SkyBridge received a "substantial" investment from Dell's investment firm and plans to plow some of the money into hedge fund start-ups, according to the report.
MSD Capital largely steers clear of technology investments, as a means to keep Dell's assets diversified.
That strategy has not been lost on the computer maker. Dell has diversified beyond the beige box and into printers, TVs and other consumer electronics.
