Denon DHT-1311XP: 3D-capable home cinema in a box

Denon's new DHT-1311XP is a home-cinema system that comprises an AV receiver and a set of 5.1-channel surround-sound speakers. It's 3D-ready, making it a super choice if you want to buy a home-cinema set-up that's as future-proof as possible.
The biggest advantage of buying a system like this is that you no longer need to pick up an AV receiver and speaker system separately. That's good news because getting components for a home-cinema system that work well together is by far the most tedious part of creating your dream AV set-up.
Denon has managed to create not only a comprehensive system, but one that's affordable. The asking price of £450 is, in our opinion, pretty reasonable considering that there are AV receivers out there that cost the same on their own, without any speakers in the box. Mind you, Denon has made its fair share of expensive audio systems in the past, including an £600 soundbar.
The receiver offers four HDMI 1.4a sockets, which should be enough for most people. It's certainly enough to hook up a couple of games consoles, a Sky+HD box and a 3D Blu-ray player. Lossless audio, in the form of Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD MA, are supported, and the company says the system can produce 650W of audio power. Denon also claims the system can breathe new life into MP3s and other lossy audio sources with its 'compressed audio restorer'.
