Deck the boughs with droids and Wookiees
A new line of officially licensed Star Wars tree ornaments lets you bring characters from a galaxy far, far away into your home this holiday season.
Sure, you could decorate your Christmas tree with the usual baubles and lights this year. Or, you could turn it into an intergalactic gathering of humans, droids, Sith Lords and Wookiees with the just-released officially licensed Star Wars ball ornaments from online retailer Merchoid.
The line features some of the best-known Star Wars characters rendered in a cartoon style that helps distinguish them from some of the more realistic, figurine-based Star Wars ornaments out there.
There are four sets of ornaments. Three sets are each inspired by a different film, while the final set, the "Imperial Death Star" pack, consists of one Death Star and five stormtrooper ornaments.
The "A New Hope" set features R2-D2, C-3P0, Obi-Wan, Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia; "Empire Strikes Back" has Yoda, Chewbacca, Han Solo, a Snow Trooper, Boba Fett and Lando; and the "Return of the Jedi" set features Jabba the Hutt, Admiral Ackbar, Wicket, an Imperial Guard, Emperor Palpatine and a Scout Trooper.
While it might seem strange to decorate with Admiral Ackbar, at least it sets you up for at least one "It's a trap!" reference.
Each ornament set costs $31.99 (about £20 or AU$45), including free worldwide shipping.
