Dayna card problems: no more fixes coming?

Jay Schmidt purchased the Dayna Communicard Fax/Modem PCMCIA card for his PowerBook 1400c/166 upgraded with the NuPowr G3/250 card. He had connection problems with it. When he contacted Dayna Tech Support about this, and they replied:
"The problem is with the driver, saying that it is connecting at an unknown rate. Unfortunately, as of June 30, 1998, all Dayna products have been discontinued, and we will not be releasing any software updates for the products. Sorry for the inconvenience."

Although the ads and the package say that the modem is flash ROM upgradeable, Tech Support told Jay that there will be no further support for the Mac. They "acknowledged that they never produced a correct driver for the Mac, and they have no intention of doing anything about it now."

Robert Meador had a similar experience with DaynaPort 10/100baseT PCI cards for three Umax S900s with Newer G3 cards: After installing the cards, he couldn't run MS Office 98 without the previously reported problems. He called Dayna about this and was told that not only is there no promised fix date, they're not sure it will ever be fixed.

[No doubt Intel's recent acquisition of Dayna has something to do with all of this - as the message noted by Eric Case on the Dayna wbe site states: "Looking for NetCenter? As part of the recent Intel acquisition of Dayna, our highly successful NetCenter line of products can now be found in the newly introduced Intel InBusiness product family."]

Update: A Dayna web page confirms the discontinuation of its entire line of products (thanks, Larry Bles).
