DAVE 2.0 talks to itself

Robert Farrell writes: "DAVE 2.0 is software that allows Macs to connect to an NT network. Open Transport 1.3 secondary IP addresses is a new feature of OT which allows a single network hardware interface to handle multiple IP addresses simultaneously. The problem is DAVE 2.0 looking on the network for another copy of DAVE 2.0 with the same serial number. If you use DAVE on a Mac that is also using multiple IP addresses, DAVE 2.0 will "talk" to itself and refuse to operate, additionally sending annoying messages every few minutes. The only way to stop the messages and get DAVE to work again is to disable any secondary IP addresses. This problem was confirmed by Thursby Software, the makers of DAVE. They indicated that the problem will be fixed in a future release."
