Damaged resources: even more files may have this glitch; Apple posts a TIL file

Regarding the now well-documented problem with files that have damaged resources after updating to Mac OS 8.1 (and which can be fixed by opening the files with ResEdit):

A reader reports that the TCP/IP and AppleTalk control panels were "damaged" (adding to the list of files that may have this problem). This has been confirmed by a new Apple TIL file on this matter. The good news is that Apple says all of these so-called damaged files are actually okay to use, even if you do not fix them.

Several readers report that this problem may also affect the Chooser.
