Škoda today released pictures and information on the MissionL concept, which will be revealed at the 2011 Frankfurt International Motor Show, which runs September 13 to 25.

The MissionL concept is a compact five-door that will be marketed throughout Europe, Russia, and China. The market in India will have its own version of the car, Skoda said in a press release.

With production plans for the MissionL, the Czech Republic-carmaker will increase its sales to 1.5 million vehicles by 2018. Škoda makes seven other models and lists a dozen concepts that are in the works.

"Revealing the look of our new compact model, the MissionL shows exactly the direction our brand is going to take," Škoda Board Chairman Winfried Vahland said in a press release. "The world premiere in Frankfurt gives a clear signal that Škoda is going full-steam ahead now. We are going to present a new vehicle every six months over the next two or three years."
