Crave giveaway: Netatmo Urban Weather Station

The forecast for this week's giveaway is awesome. Win a cool little system that delivers real-time data on temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, and CO2 levels to your mobile device.

Netatmo

Congrats to Guy S. of Inwood, W.Va., for winning a Parallax Boe-Bot DIY robot kit in last week's giveaway. When it comes to weather, do you care about more than whether it's sunny out? This week's freebie is for you, weather geeks.

Netatmo

We're giving away a Netatmo Urban Weather Station, which consists of two compact cylindrical modules, one indoor and one outdoor, that use sensors to analyze your environment and wirelessly send detailed data to your mobile device via a free iOS or Android app. The data can also be accessed online through a free Netatmo cloud account.

Readings include temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, and CO2. If any of these hit excessive levels, you'll get a real-time notification on your mobile device so you can increase your home's ventilation, move to the country, or take any other action that might benefit you when temperatures and air quality pose a threat.

You can also get real-time local Air Quality Index reports. And the device measures home or office noise levels to remind you that you sit near some really loud co-workers.

Normally, the Netatmo Urban Weather Station would cost you $179 (batteries included), but this is your chance to get one for free. How do you go about doing that? There are a few rules, so please take a deep breath (if the air quality's OK) and read carefully.

  • Register as a CNET user. Go to the top of this page and hit the "Join CNET" link to start the registration process. If you're already registered, there's no need to register again.
  • Leave a comment below. You can leave whatever comment you want. If it's funny or insightful, it won't help you win, but we're trying to have fun here, so anything entertaining is appreciated.
  • Leave only one comment. You may enter for this specific giveaway only once. If you enter more than one comment, you will be automatically disqualified.
  • The winner will be chosen randomly. The winner will receive one (1) Netatmo Urban Weather Station, with a retail value of $179.
  • If you are chosen, you will be notified via e-mail. The winner must respond within three days of the end of the sweepstakes. If you do not respond within that period, another winner will be chosen.
  • Entries can be submitted until Monday, July 8, 12 p.m. ET.

And here's the disclaimer that our legal department said we had to include (sorry for the caps, but rules are rules):

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. YOU HAVE NOT YET WON. MUST BE LEGAL RESIDENT OF ONE OF THE 50 UNITED STATES OR D.C., 18 YEARS OLD OR AGE OF MAJORITY, WHICHEVER IS OLDER IN YOUR STATE OF RESIDENCE AT DATE OF ENTRY INTO SWEEPSTAKES. VOID IN PUERTO RICO, ALL U.S. TERRITORIES AND POSSESSIONS, AND WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW. Sweepstakes ends at 12 p.m. ET on Monday, July 8, 2013. See official rules for details.

Good luck.
