Cowon shows off D2+ MP3 player

A Korean product page has released the details of Cowon's upgrade to their D2 line of MP3 players, dubbed the D2+, or D2 Plus.

Details on Cowon's new D2+ touch screen MP3 player have been revealed on the Korean version of the company's Web site. As the name implies, the D2+ is an improvement on the company's relatively popular D2 MP3 player line, which made its debut in February of 2007.

Details on the pricing of the D2+ are unclear, but the company product page explicitly touts new features such as BBE+ sound enhancement (recently included on the Cowon S9), a refreshed graphic user interface, and memory expansion compatible with SD, SDHC, and MMC. Existing Cowon D2 features such as FM radio, a 2.5-inch screen, voice/line recording, video playback, photo viewer, 50+ hours of battery life, text reader, and widgets, are all still here. Supported audio formats include MP3, WMA (including DRM), Ogg, FLAC, and WAV.

By the looks of it, Koreans will have up to four capacities (2GB, 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB) to choose from and five colors, including silver, black, pink, white, and light blue. No word on what colors we'll get in the States, or whether we'll get the D2+ at all, but considering that the original D2 is one of Cowon's better-selling MP3 players in the U.S., I expect we'll see details on U.S. pricing and availability very soon.
