Nice slicer. Pyrex

I recently had the opportunity to try out a few pieces from the new Pyrex Kitchenware line of smart kitchen tools and gadgets. If you're like me, you hear Pyrex and you think glass, which means you're in for a pleasant surprise.

The new line includes metal bakeware, BPA-free plastics, heat-resistant silicone, and dishwasher- and nonstick-surface-safe tools that incorporate some fun, useful features.

For example, the double balloon whisk combines wire and silicone edges, so you can scrape the sides of the bowl when you froth your eggs and whip cream. The extra-large pizza wheel slices easily through thick dough, and the blade pops out for supereasy cleaning.

The spatula, slotted spoon, and slotted turner all have comfortable handles that provide just the right amount of heft in your hand, and the flexible edges ensure you can scrape the sides of your pots and pans quickly and efficiently. And the nesting measuring spoons have magnets that hold the handles together to keep your kitchen organized.

You can find the collection in stores now and more products will be rolled out in early 2010; prices range from about $7 to $20.
