Conflict Catcher Update 8.0.1 is now available. It provides a minor fix to 8.0 for Conflict Testing group links.

List all files Ivor Gleek noted that Conflict Catcher 8 did not list some extensions that Apple's Extension Manager listed. These included Stuffit Engine and STF Toolbox.

Mike Lewis (of Casady & Greene) explains: To display all files, go to Preferences and select Folders. Highlight Extensions and click on Modify. Once the Modify screen is up click the checkbox which says "Display files of All Types." The default setting does not have this checked.

Memory warning If you look in the Memory Use column, you may see some items in bold face. If you click on these items, you'll get a messages that says" Warning! This file is using more memory in the system heap at startup than it is requesting. You may want to try disabling this file if you are experiencing problems with your system."

Mike Lewsis suggests not to be alarmed. It's probably okay to igore these warnings unless you are having what appears to be some extension-related problem.

Pivot monitor conflict Stephen Diamond writes that "Conflict Catcher 8 is incompatible with the Pivot 1700 monitor, and probably other pivoting monitors manufactured by Portrait Display Labs, and perhaps by Radius. The installer fails to work, and if the extensions are inserted manually, they fail to load on startup." He says that Casady & Greene have confirmed this.

Jeff Robbin (author of Conflict Catcher) writes: "According to the system report I received, the Pivot is reporting its resolution at 624 x 800. Conflict Catcher 8 currently requires a display 640 x 400 or larger. I will be relaxing the display size check to 624 x 400 in a future update to Conflict Catcher 8."

Update: Mac OS 8.5 compatibility Today's MRP has a statement from Jeff Robbin confirming that CC4.x is not compatible with Mac OS 8.5. You will need CC8 when you update the OS.
