Conflict between Global Village 56K software and Virtual PC 2.0

CNET staff
Dana Leighton discovered a conflict between Global Village 56K modem software and Connectix Virtual PC 2.0: When using Windows 95's HyperTerminal, via the GV modem, HyperTerminal dials the number, connects and then immediately disconnects. Both Connectix and Global Village confirmed this.

Dana writes: "I isolated the cause to the following startup/extension/control panel files: Global Village Toolbox, Global Village Address Book Engine, and TelePort. When these three files are disabled, the connection works fine in Virtual PC."
