For Xbox fans, Halo 5: Guardians is the most hotly anticipated video game of 2015. Conan O'Brien already has his hands on an early version of the game, and in a new episode of the " Clueless Gamer" series that aired Tuesday, Conan challenged T.J. Miller, Zach Woods and Thomas Middleditch from " Silicon Valley" to a 3-on-3 deathmatch.

The men, feeling the heat of competition, boldly declare that they're playing for the ultimate prize, as the losing team will have its TV show cancelled.

Things don't look too good for Conan's crew, however, as they lose the first two matches before switching to a different level. When the Late Night team finally takes the lead, the camera reveals that Conan cheated by giving his controller to one of Halo's multiplayer designers, who pulls some moves that has the "Silicon Valley" guys scratching their heads.

The "Clueless Gamer" series (usually with less high stakes) regularly features the veteran talk show host, better known for his quick wit than gaming skills, "playing" and even reviewing popular releases. Halo 5: Guardians is the latest entrant in Microsoft Studios' wildly successful Halo series, and the company showed off some footage of the game at the E3 gaming conference in Los Angeles this week. The first-person shooter will be released on Xbox One on October 27.
