Conan goes on Tinder, gets creepy
Enlisting actor Dave Franco to his cause, Conan O'Brien tries to strut his online dating stuff. It's painful.
There's a certain honesty about Tinder.
You look at a face -- and, if you're really lucky -- a full body shot, and you swipe right for "yes" and left for "no."
You do the same with your eyes in a bar. Tinder is the closest digital equivalent.
There are, however, some people who shouldn't be allowed on Tinder: those whose motives are questionable and proclivities dubious.
Conan O'Brien is clearly one of those people.
In a stunt designed to entertain everyone except his female targets, Conan enlisted the help of actor Dave Franco to trawl Tinder and see what lovelies they could meet.
It was quite stunning -- at least to Conan -- that Franco had rather more success than the great comedian and business leader himself.
Moreover, the passion wagon Conan prepared for Tinder dates was not, perhaps, ideally designed for the discerning Tinder user.
Worse, when Conan meets Franco's date, he cannot help but offer precisely the level of creepiness that those who worry about online dating fear.
Still, Franco did well and Conan ended up with a man.
