Compaq Computer will extend its three-day Business Tuesday promotional offers an extra day, starting this week. The company added an extra day, citing customer demand for more time to consider its promotions for small and midsized businesses. Business Tuesday usually offers giveaways or steep discounts on accessories or services that can be used in combination with Compaq hardware such as its Armada notebooks or Evo desktop PCs. This week's promotion offers companies that purchase a Compaq ProLiant DL380 rack-mount server a free 18.2GB SCSI hard drive. Ordinarily, the company charges $319 for the install of a 9GB SCSI hard drive. The server starts at $3,638. Previous Business Tuesday offers have paired a free iPaq handheld computer with its Evo D500 PC or free 802.11b wireless networking cards with Compaq notebooks.
