We're getting ready for our first live demo event for tech consumers--this one focused on 3D televisions. Don't miss it.

We're getting ready for the first ever CNET Showcase live event, on 3D in the home. We've invited about 100 local CNET tech fans to learn about new 3D technology and products, and see demos put on by five leading 3D vendors.

We're going to start this event with a discussion that I'll be hosting with two 3D experts: CNET's David Katzmaier, and Retrevo's Andrew Eisner. After talking about the realities of 3D technology for consumers and taking questions from the audience, we'll break into a mini trade show, where the attendees get to see for themselves the products that use this new technology.

You can watch the event live at 6:00 p.m. PDT on Thursday, April 8, over at the Reporters' Roundtable show viewer at CNET TV. (Before the event starts, the player will be showing last week's Roundtable episode.) After the event is over, we'll put together a video wrap-up and post it here.
