Coming June 24: CNET Showcase on tablets, slates, Netbooks

Don't miss our hands-on event and discussion on the newest in small and slim computing.

The first CNET Showcase event, on 3D TVs, was enough of a success that we've turned right around and set up another one.

On June 24, we'll be putting on Showcase No. 2 at our San Francisco headquarters, this time focusing on slates, tablets, and Netbooks.

We'll kick off the event with a discussion among me and two CNET Reviews experts: Donald Bell (slates and tablets) and Dan Ackerman (Netbooks and notebooks). Then we'll open up a mini trade show, giving our live audience the chance to check out the latest slim and small computers and to ask questions of the company reps who will be there. I'll put up a list of presenting companies in a future post.

This event will be a few weeks after the big Computex trade show in Taiwan, where companies will be announcing new (and strange) portable computing platforms. Several of these new products will be at the CNET Showcase. So if you will be in San Francisco and can get a ticket, don't miss this event.

If you can't make it, the discussion will be streamed live, and we'll post a video wrap-up once it's over.

The event is free to attend but requires tickets. One batch of seats has already been snapped up by my Twitter followers. But there are seats left. And there will be a waiting list once the seats are all spoken for. So put your name down here to sign up. Hope to see you June 24.
