Cometa Networks announced Tuesday that iPass customers can use its hot-spot networks. iPass' service gives users access to corporate information through secure dial-up, DSL (digital subscriber line) and hot-spot connections. Hot spots are areas where wireless Internet access is available to the public. Cometa sets up and operates hot spots and partners with service providers to sell the service to consumers and companies.

Cometa has been certified by iPass as "Enterprise Ready," a designation given to hot-spot operators that have passed quality assessment and operations tests. Wayport and Toshiba's SurfHere also have been certified by iPass.
