CNET giveaway: 'X-Men Apocalypse' on Blu-ray, and a prop from the film
Mutants, gather round! This week we have a prize only worthy of the bravest heroes: a copy of "X-Men: Apocalypse" on Blu-ray and a prop straight from the film set.
Congratulations to Tom W. of Hendersonville, N.C., for winning a Sony Blu-ray player in our September 9 giveaway. Speaking of Blu-ray, "X-Men Apocalypse" comes out on Blu-ray and DVD October 4, and we've got a Blu-ray copy for one winner right here.
"X-Men: Apocalypse" may be the ninth film in the X-Men franchise (and the fourth under the direction of Bryan Singer), but it still packs quite a punch.
The film's villain, a powerful mutant called Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac), wakes from a tomb in 1983 and assembles his team of four horsemen: Psylocke, Storm, Angel and Magneto, to take over the world.
The only ones who can stop Apocalypse are a new crop of mutants: Professor X's teenage pupils, who are led by the reformed villain Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence). It's a nice blend of the old and the new, with veterans of the series Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy, and the fresh faces of Sophie Turner, Lucas Till and Tye Sheridan.
In addition to a copy of the film on Blu-ray, our winner will also receive a prop used in the film. We have Xavier's School Agenda, used by the students on screen. The agenda would look awesome displayed on a shelf, right next to all your X-Men comics and figurines.
