Kent was a senior managing editor at CNET News. A veteran of CNET since 2003, he reviewed the first iPhone and worked in both the London and San Francisco offices. When not working, he's planning his next vacation, walking his dog or watching planes land at the airport (yes, really).

Sitting under a glass case at a CTIA press reception was the Samsung SGH-D307 smart phone. Styled closely to the now long-lost (we're still not sure what happened to that device), the SGH-D307 has a similar dual-hinged design and a full QWERTY keyboard. Other features in this quad-band world phone (GSM 850/900/1800/1900) include Bluetooth, e-mail and Web access, voice recognition, and multiformat messaging support. Although nothing's official yet, Cingular is the likely carrier.
