Check Point updates VPN software

Security-application maker Check Point Software Technologies announced Monday that the newest service pack to its Next Generation firewall and VPN software is now available worldwide. The software update adds pricing based on the number of secure connections, or "tunnels," a customer uses, as well as new management features. The release also breaks out feature sets into two new products: VPN-1 Net and VPN-1 Pro. VPN-1 Net includes one-click set-up, tunnel-based pricing and better access control. VPN-1 Pro, the follow-on to the company's VPN-1 Gateway, adds VPN communities, additional network configurations and easier policy creation. Pricing for the products starts at $1,000 for five tunnels.
