Bugs reported and fixed Michael Simmons (of Radialogic) informs us that they have isolated 2 bugs with the CDMaster installer: The "Preferences" folder may become invisible. The "Extensions Folder" which is in the "System Folder" may be moved to the "Obsolete Drivers" folder inside the "CD Master Folder." A newly posted CDMaster 1.0.3 fixes these problems. The new version also supports more QPS drives (all the 12/10/32's and some others) and has other minor bug fixes. Bear in mind that this is still a preview version. Radialogic has also released a tool, Make Prefs Folder Visible, which will automatically fix the hidden preferences folder. If anyone has the Extensions Folder "moved" problem, all they need to do is move the Extensions Folder back to the System Folder. Background burning The latest issue of the MDJ notes that programs would occasionally freeze while a CD burning was taking place in the background (a feature of CDMaster, as noted here yesterday). The MDJ also pointed out that Toast has a limited ability to "switch into the background" if you activate its "PowerKey/Rebound Compatible" Preferences setting - but apparently only if you have a "BURN-Proof" drive. Update: Radialogic has replied to this: "We worked many, many months to make background/asynchronous burning a reality on Mac OS. It works with virtually all drives. We have extensively tested the background burning functionality. As of today, we have had bug reports, of course, but not a single report of freezing while doing a burn. If anyone has this problem, please let us know."
