CC8 display glitch: Wacom software may also be a cause Regarding the previously reported display glitch with Conflict Catcher 8.0.7, Pam Sargood writes: "On my G3 running Mac OS OS 9, this glitch is definitely caused by the Wacom Intuos tablet driver extension v.4.5.2." We have this software installed as well, which probably explains why we also see this glitch even though we do not have the other software known to cause it, such as MouseWorks (we confess that we have no yet taken the time to do a conflict test to confirm this). Firmware up to to 2.8 now? Apple is up to something with its firmware. After just posting that current G4s now ship with firmware version 2.6 (the most recent upgrade available online is 2.4), Franz Erdmann writes from Germany that his new G4/500 came with firmware version 2.8f6. UMAX Copier: a follow-up Regarding updates to the UMAX Copier program (covered here recently), a MacFixIt reader replies: UMAX has stopped developing Copier, as its functionality is now contained within the VistaScan software itself (see this page). Sounds like the tech support rep was in error." UMAX line-art restriction fixed Glen Adomovicz reports that the latest 3.7 version of VistaScan fixed a previously reported line-art resolution restriction.
