In an interview with Palm Beach Illustrated, Carrie Fisher gave an answer indicating that she may be returning to the role of Princess Leia Organa.

Just a couple of months after penning her open letter bidding farewell to the feisty Princess Leia, Carrie Fisher has indicated that her role may be reprised for the next film in the Star Wars saga.

In an interview with website Palm Beach Illustrated, the actor and comedian was asked straight out if she was returning for the next film:

Disney is going to continue the Star Wars saga, producing movies set to hit theatres starting in 2015. Can you confirm whether you'll reprise the role of Princess Leia?

Yes.

It looks like a confirmation, but without word from Disney backing it up, we're not terribly inclined to believe it quite just yet.

It does, however, dovetail nicely with rumours of Harrison Ford's return to the role of Han Solo, and Mark Hamill's return as Luke Skywalker.

Don't get your hopes up for Chewbacca, though.
