Canon Wonder Camera: Shooter of the future?
According to Canon, this shooter captures only video, since the clip's resolution is high enough for users to splice a single frame out as a still image.
Here at Crave, we've covered a lot of concept cameras, most of which were drafted by designers and not camera manufacturers. However, the shooter we're Craving today was demonstrated by Canon at thenow taking place in Shanghai.
The Canon Wonder Camera is shaped like a megazoom snapper but has a more streamlined, futuristic look. The lens is capable of snapping macro photos or zooming up to 500mm. But what's more astonishing is that, according to Canon, this shooter captures only video, since the clip's resolution is high enough for users to splice a single frame out as a still image.
Also, the Wonder Camera will employ a proprietary technology that can keep everything in focus, with an advanced image stabilizer system ensuring steady shots each time.
These imaging technologies are definitely possible, but they are unlikely to manifest in the coming few years. I'm guessing it'll be around 2020 before they slowly appear in digicams. What are your thoughts on such functions? Share with us below.
