Canon reveals EOS C300 cinema camera
After months of speculation, Canon has finally revealed its EOS C300 cinema camera at Paramount Studios in Hollywood.

After months of speculation, Canon has finally revealed its EOS C300 cinema camera at Paramount Studios in Hollywood.
As part of Canon's Cinema EOS line, the company announced two professional-grade digital cinema cameras, the EOS C300 and the EOS C300 PL. These two models are identical, except that one uses the EF lens mount (meaning it can use existing Canon EF lenses) and the other has a PL mount. In terms of features, the C300 uses a Super 35mm CMOS sensor that can deliver up to full 4K resolution (but outputs at 1080p), two compact flash card slots for recording, manual exposure and focus control and HD-SDI output.
Canon also announced a range of new glass lenses specifically designed for the C300, including a 14.5-60mm and 30-300mm lens (EF and PL mounts), as well as a 24mm, 50mm and 85mm prime lenses (EF mount only). More images from the launch and images of the camera can be found at Engadget.
According to Canon, the C300 should be available in January worldwide for US$20,000.
