Let's start with Canon, which has just added a cashback offer to the EOS 1000D 18-55mm IS kit, which will net you back £30, bringing the total cost to around £350.

Canon has also extended the £50 cashback offer on the EOS 450D and £60 offer on the EOS 40D. Both of these apply to the camera bodies or kits, bringing the cost of a 40D with 17-85mm IS USM Lens to below £800, and the 450D with 18-55mm IS Lens to around £430. Jessops is also offering a free Centon camera bag with the 450D.

Now we're not saying Christmas is coming, because we hate it when Advent calendars start showing up in supermarkets with a hundred shopping days to go. Pentax will offer £30 cashback on the newly announced Pentax K-m entry-level dSLR. The 18-55mm lens kit will set you back a mere £369 and a two-lens kit £469 from 30 October.

Nikon isn't running any offers at the moment, but if you've bought a D40 or D60 this summer, you could still get in on the action with up to £90 on the D60 or up to £60 on the D40, if you bought either camera with lens and flash.

It's not just cameras that are in on the cashback action: JVC is offering £50 on a selection of high-definition Everio camcorders. Selected standard-def shooters will get you £30.

And finally, don't forget to check out the offers on, er, offer at the Jessops Web site. Right now you can get yourself a Canon IXUS 860 IS for half price with a case and battery, or a Sony W150 for less than a ton and a half. Now go forth and shop.
