Canadian keyboards and drivers: more info

CNET staff
Tom Gewecke offers a follow-up on our coverage of Canadian French keyboards. He notes that there is a difference between a Canadian hardware keyboard (such as the CSA one mentioned by readers) vs. a software keyboard layout driver. He writes: "The keyboard layout drivers determine which key does what. The people you quote seem to think that only CSA counts, and that's their privilege, but there are two other choices: Canadian French and ISO." He notes that in the Keyboard control panel of Mac OS 9, all three layouts are listed. However, in the Keyboard Menu tab of the International System Preference, only CSA is listed. Finally, he adds that this web page has a Canadian French hack.
