For this edition of Week-end Updates, we feature some new and updated web sites - in addition to the usual updated software. (As usual, this listing is selective and focuses on items of troubleshooting relevance.):

a. Kaleidoscope 1.5is out. Unfortunately, I have already gotten several reports of problems with it, including crashes when using SimpleText (Dan Lefresne) and one with SuperBoomerang when accessing Open/Save dialog boxes, perhaps only with SB set to enlarge the dialog box (Stephen Giles and Chuck Bouldin.).

b. Aaron 1.6 is also out. It's mainly a bug-fix.

c. StuffIt Lite 3.6 is out. It fixes a few bugs and enhances translation speed. Rakesh Chabra (of Aladdin) writes that these are "the same translators that we shipped in StuffIt Deluxe 4.0."

d. NetFinderwasupdated to v. 1.0.2 a bit ago, fixing several bugs.

e. Conflict Catcher Demo updated from version 4.0 to 4.0.1.

f. Mac Tip of the Week has been revamped as an "all new site."

g. Macintosh Technical Reference Pagehas moved to new URL.

h. The Daily Mac Info Pageis a new startup news page.

i. deal-macis a new site (still in preview mode and scheduled to open for real on March 31). With a focus on giving the latest info on the best prices for Mac products, the preview page includes an item that suggests that "academic prices" may be less of a discount than generally believed.
