Buzz Out Loud live at SXSWi

Buzz Out Loud will be live-streaming and partying down from SXSWi. Here's how to get in on the action even if you won't be there!

Molly Wood Former Executive Editor
Molly Wood was an executive editor at CNET, author of the Molly Rants blog, and host of the tech show, Always On. When she's not enraging fanboys of all stripes, she can be found offering tech opinions on CBS and elsewhere, and offering opinions on everything else to anyone who will listen.

If you've been anywhere near Twitter in the last week, you know that the South by Southwest Interactive, Film, and Music festival (known lovingly as SXSW to just about everyone) starts this week. Last year was the first time that interactive registrants outnumbered even music festival attendees, so it's more than safe to say the Internet portion of the program has become the biggest part of the program (probably to the dismay of Austin's old-school music fans!). But hey, we can take a hint. If you're anyone at all online, you're at SXSW. So, we'll be there.

Buzz Out Loud at SXSW
Join us, won't you? CBS Interactive

We're throwing a big bash Sunday: a live taping of the Buzz Out Loud podcast that's also a meetup and launch for the new CBS show "Chaos." The live stream starts at 4 p.m. Pacific and we've got a pretty awesome guest lineup (if you don't mind me saying so): nerd queen of the Internet Felicia Day; Pete Cashmore, founder and CEO of Mashable; the founders of group texting startup Yobongo; and musical performances from Dual Core and Amanda French.

Plus, we'll talk with Freddy Rodriguez and Tim Blake Nelson, two of the stars of "Chaos," as well as the show's director, Brett Ratner, and you'll get some sneak peeks inside the making of the show and an extended trailer.

We'll be live-streaming our show, of course, and if you can join us at Cedar Street Austin on Sunday, please come down and say hello, and enjoy some drinks, churros, tacos, and entertainment. (You can also find us on Livestream and Ustream.) And if you're on-site, you can put your name in the hat to win a Motorola Xoom...but you might have to dance for it. Don't say you weren't warned.

We'll also stream a second SXSW BOL episode Monday, live from the Salt Lick BBQ in Driftwood, Texas, at 2 p.m. Pacific with special guest and BOL favorite Ben Huh, founder and CEO of the Cheezburger empire. And yes: This is a shameless play to combine work with great BBQ. Don't judge us.

Hope you can join us in Austin, one way or the other, and happy SXSW week!
